Students are asked to select two food items and compare their nutritional facts labels to decide which food item would be a healthier option. Students will fill out the food facts label for the two items they select. Exploring Food Labels Activity
This is an activity for students to explore food labels. I usually pair this up with an energy or nutrition unit. The worksheet is free but you will need to cut up and bring in food labels for them to use to fill out the worksheet. I suggest using a variety of foods high in protein, sugars, and fiber so that they can see the differences easily. A discussion about nutrition and favorite snacks pairs well at the end of this activity.
