First, I discuss how limited the Pilgrims were in the items they could bring with them on the Mayflower, then I use this graphic organizer to brainstorm what they would want to bring and what they would need to bring with them if they were going on this trip. I use this when teaching students about the informal qualifications and shared traits of the United States presidents. Students analyze the profiles to decide which candidate they think would be most likely to win in an election. Each candidate is a former U.S. president, so there is no correct or incorrect answer.
