Water Cycle Bag Experiment

Created by

Students will create the water cycle in a bag in groups. Worksheet is broken up into step by steps so that each child can participate in the project. After the students create the water cycle in bag, there are some questions for them to answer such as what do they think will happen to the water in the bag and what happened to the water in the bag after a few hours. Also I will be listing a PowerPoint with visuals for a step by step of what the students will need to do!

Thumbs Up Recording Sheet

This is such a helpful chart to help our littlest scientists experience the practice of gathering data. This chart does not include any words - only thumbs up/thumbs down column headings. My favorite way to use this is in simple, binary experiments such as giving children a collection of objects, and letting them record which items are attracted to a magnet, and which ones are not.

Weather Watcher Job Chart and Activity

The following tool is used independently in my class of First Grade students in the morning when jobs are being completed in the classroom. At the end of the week, the questions are completed and the weather is reported to the class. However, these pages can be used in a multitude of ways. This is wonderful tool for a classroom job, a project that can be completed weekly in science class during a weather unit or it can be used during class morning meetings for younger children. This can be used in any setting to help students discuss the descriptive words that we use to identify items we have discovered with each of our senses. I used this for my Kindergarten students to teach them the descriptive words for science and using senses. The pictures make this really easy to use for any grade, especially for ESOL students.
