December/Christmas/Winter Journal Writing Prompt Booklet
This is a 7 page booklet that features two journal entries on each page. The first is a title page, so there are 12 writing prompts. Each page has several lines for a student response, as well as a box to draw a picture of the journal entries.
These half sheets are to be cut out and given to students one at a time. At the end of the month, just before break, I like to punch holes and bind the journals for students to keep as a momento.

I used this 1 page activity with small groups of two students. The students roll the dice to fill in the mixed number fraction boxes and then they worked through completing the calculations. Student groups can also trade their sheet with another group for calculation completion. Set of 20 pairs of mittens. Each pair has a number from 1-20 on one mitten and the corresponding number of snowflakes on the other mitten. Fraction by whole number division activity using dominoes - dice, 5.NF.B.7a
This is a one page activity that uses dominoes to create the fraction and a dice to determine the whole number. I completed this activity with groups of two students. I had the partners fill in the sheet and then trade it with a fellow group who solved the problems. The activity in entirety took approximately 30-45 minutes depending on the ability level of the students.
