December/Christmas/Winter Journal Writing Prompt Booklet
This is a 7 page booklet that features two journal entries on each page. The first is a title page, so there are 12 writing prompts. Each page has several lines for a student response, as well as a box to draw a picture of the journal entries.
These half sheets are to be cut out and given to students one at a time. At the end of the month, just before break, I like to punch holes and bind the journals for students to keep as a momento.

On Demand Writing Peer Conferences
This document allows student to use the Rally Coach Kagan structure to conduct peer conferences using each aspect of the on demand writing rubric.
Copy each set and gives cards to students. Place students into groups. One at a time a student reads a peer's writing and chooses a card to give comments about the particular part of the rubric. With this instructional strategy, students are learning from their peer's writing and it turn learning the essential parts of the writing rubric

Mitten Math Match
Set of 20 pairs of mittens. Each pair has a number from 1-20 on one mitten and the corresponding number of snowflakes on the other mitten. Persuasive Writing, "Wreck Stereotypes"
Stereotyping and bullying have become a major problem in our society. I have taken a creative approach in dealing with this by integrating the topic into a creative writing assignment that satisfies the common core standard of argumentative/persuasive writing. Included is a fun "Wreck it Ralph" writing paper for final drafts.
-Students can start the lesson off by watching the movie trailer of "Wreck it Ralph" on you tube and discuss the dilemmas at hand.

Holiday or Winter-Themed Late or No Homework Coupons
Students love getting presents from their teachers, but it can get expensive. These coupons were created to give the kiddos an extra night for homework or a free night.
Print the coupons and hand them out for Christmas Holidays or Winter Incentives. The kiddos love them.
