Students select a country in the Middle East and using the 5 Themes of geography as a scaffold, complete basic research on their topic. Great Wall of China PROS & CONS - with Common Core addition!
Students use websites (list provided) and/or textbooks to gather and infer pros (advantages) and cons (disadvantages) of the building of the Great Wall of China. Students take notes on this one-page worksheet. Then, students are directed to create a final piece (PowerPoint, poster, movie, etc.) explaining at least 3 pros and 3 cons, including a summary conclusion with at least two citations from their research.
