The Mash Dash--Two Step Equations Activity
This is a fun way for kids to practice solving two step equations!
• Arrange students into teams (rows work best) of four students.
• The first student gets a copy of the round 1 paper. He or she solves problem one and passes it onto the 2nd person in a row. This continues until the last person receives the final answer.
• The last person DASHES to the teacher. If the answers are correct, the team is given the round 2 paper. If not right, the team must correct the answers and try again.

Integer Word Search
There are three word searches. The student will look for equations and have to add the symbols to complete the equation. There is one for combining integers, one for multiply/dividing integers, and the last one is for all integer operations. For example: On combining, the second column has -5, 9, and 4. A student could create an equation -5 + 9 = 4 and they get a point! This easily be made into a game with two or three students. Who can find the most equations or they could take turns.Answer key
