This map can be printed and made into a poster or a handout, or simply incorporated into a powerpoint! It identifies the main regions of Native American groups in the United States and gives a broad overview of each. The history of High School Cadet training is a long one going back before World War I. If, like me, you participated in Cadets at your school, you will know that the learning process was real and included many school activities ranging from weapon firing to marching in local events. In some places summer camps provided in-depth training where you learned how to light fires in the wilderness, how to signal, how to build bridges and much more.My original drawings provided here cover several activi

The lifeline pass is the perfect way to solve backlash about workload from students and parents in Advanced Placement courses. Teens are now the most stressed out age group in the United States and AP courses are very intense. In order to help my students with the intensity I offer one lifeline pass per quarter. The students can use the lifeline pass to extend the period to turn something in by 48 hours, without a late penalty. The pass can not be used on a summative assessment like a project. I

I am also including the clip art that I used on the article page as a bonus.

A fun and easy to use timeline for Reconstruction that will help your students contextualize the time period from beginning to end. I love to use it as a visual scaffold to help them write about the time period, as a way to introduce the unit and for help with the NYS U.S. History Regents exam. For some students tables I keep it in their table caddies for reference throughout the unit, as some students tend to see the trees and not the forest. This timeline emphasizes Reconstruction for freedmen
