Trigonometric Functions Project Architecture Real World Trigonometry
Apply trigonometric functions to the real-world of architecture with this mini-project. In this student-tested and approved project, students design the front of a building using different roof styles. Students determine the use of the building, draw scale drawings, and use trigonometric functions to determine roof heights and lengths. Twig-onometry Project: Using Right Triangle Trig to Measure Indirectly

I like to call this activity Putt-Putt-Geometry. It is 9 glorious holes of trigonometry application! This works great as a Trig unit project, end of year project, or test review (maybe 1 or 2 holes for review). The students can work in groups, pairs, or individuals. If your students are not proficient with Trig, or you have not covered it yet, each hole can be done using the Pythagorean Theorem instead - simply tweak the directions a bit. I hope your students enjoy this as much as mine do!

Indirect Measurement Project: similar triangles, right triangle trigonometry
This is an outdoor project with 5 stations for students to acquire hands on experience with indirect measuring using different tools, right triangle trig, and similar triangles.
