This is a great game for geography students, to help them with relative positioning. They are to identify two key cities on a map, and then they estimate the direction and distance they would be traveling. Using nautical (air) miles, they use the scale on their map to make their best guess. This works best in teams of twos. After five rounds, whomever was closest the most times is the One Direction Game winner.

Whenever possible, real world problems should be introduced in to the curriculum. On occasion we have had outside sources contact us to come up with design ideas for specific problems. We have also developed our own design problems and sought out a recipient who would benefit from the students solutions.
