The Teaching Q- Melissa Qualle

It's hard to believe, but I've been teaching elementary students for 27 years! Although I've spent most of those years in grades K-2, I have found that "sweet" spot in second and third grades. My love of teaching has now transformed into my passion for sharing engaging and motivating resources with teachers worldwide. It's rewarding to know that I am helping an overworked and overstressed teacher provide more writing opportunities to their students.

I believe in "Learning by Doing." I have found that students need and desire the opportunity to process, discuss, create, and apply the knowledge presented during each lesson. Therefore, my classroom is full of scaffolded instruction and collaborative discussions followed up with hands-on experiences.

I have received many awards, but the pat on the back given by parents and administration is most important.

I graduated from Fresno State, California, with a Liberal Studies Degree. Since then, I have continued to earn certification in areas of interest that support my teachings.

I am a proud wife and mother of two beautiful girls. I enjoy spending time with my family and discovering new places and cultures.
