Homework Expectations Letter
With the new standards and Engage NY/Eureka Math curriculum I have had many concerned/angry parent emails. Math teachers get all the complaints! This Expectations letter helps parents and students understand their role when doing homework. It also has a whole page of online resources that I use with my families. It is a great tool to assess student's fluency for addition, subtraction, or multiplication. You may hand out page and give them a number and they write it in the center of the donuts then they have to add it to all numbers and write the answer on the outside of the empty spaces in the donuts. As students master a number fact you may track it and keep going on to the next number and you may use it to track data and see the how they progress.

Direct Proportion Question Posters
This is a nice activity that breaks down direct proportion problems for low ability groups. I have put these around the classroom and then got students to work in pairs trying to complete them. The answers are at the bottom of each poster, which I fold up and stick down so the students can not see them until they are ready to check their answers.
