When students make mistakes in your classroom, they need a chance to process what happened and what they can do differently next time. Every Monday morning my students have a new goal setting sheet on their desk and complete the left side for morning work. They choose one academic, thinking/working, and friendship goal (listed on the second page) to work on for the week and record it on the left side. There are many ways to be a good citizen. Use this resource as a supplement to teaching citizenship. Students will be identifying specific, relatable ways to show good citizenship in their own neighborhoods. Little learners may color or circle all of the ways that show good citizenship!
