Description

I belong to a Kindergarten Facebook page and someone posted a letter for something called the Full Plate Project. A TON of teachers chimed in asking where they found it and where to get their copy. Nobody could find it, not even on TpT. The original poster said she found it on a Google search.

My friend and colleague Linda asked me to create something similar. This is MY TAKE on the Thanksgiving Full Plate Project. I have reworded the letter from the sample taken off of Google and posted on Facebook.

Send this letter home to parents along with a paper plate (a fancy Thanksgiving plate or plain colored shiny fall plate works best but white will do the trick, too). To the center of the plate attach the name piece of your choice (I have included a girl pilgrim, boy pilgrim, or a cute pilgrim turkey in a pumpkin).

UPDATE:
* Now includes an additional name piece (9 per page) which will take up MUCH LESS SPACE on your students' plates. :)
* Now also includes and EDITABLE letter template so you can create your own letter to send home to parents worded the way you want it worded. Yay!! This will open in PowerPoint.

================================================

Students are encouraged to complete this family project at home using a combination of drawings, magazine pictures, stickers, stamps, ribbons, glitter, etc.

Great for English Language Learner students because as a culminating activity students TALK about their full plates and count their blessings as they share with the class and explain what it is they are THANKFUL for. :)

UPDATE
Shannon at Matthews' Kindergarten Mischief kindly asked if I would be interested in including a Spanish version of the letter. I gladly accepted! This is now a ZIPPED FILE which will include my resource in English as well as the one she created in Spanish. :) I am thankful for teacher collaboration!! Head on over to her store by clicking the link on the credits page.

================================================

I hope you enjoy both the English portion (created by me) and the Spanish portion (created by Shannon). I love TEAMWORK!!! :)
