Slavery Rebellion and Resistance Text and Questions
When learning about the history of slavery, it is important to understand how slaves rebelled and resisted against enslavement. This introductory text summarizes some examples of rebellion and resistance by enslaved African people. It is followed by a set of "Check For Understanding" questions and an exit ticket quiz where students write a thesis statement. This assignment is designed for students to read and answer independent and discuss in groups over one to two 50 minute class periods.
