Je suis Francais by Black M song and questions. Students have to conjugate the passe compose and imparfait and then answer questions. Song addresses the topic of racism in France.

This song is great for Black Heritage Month, a unit on Identity, MLK Day, and preterite and imperfect identification. Students will watch the video, read the lyrics, identify preterite and imperfect verbs, then they will answer a series of questions which will guide them through understanding the song. Last they will answer some personal questions and make connections to their lives. This will take more than one class period unless you have block scheduleing.

These 6 original verses were added to my favorite Barney & Friends song, "If All the Raindrops." I reveal one verse at a time each time it rains, until all 8 verses are complete. Then we draw a picture of the "delicious" rain! This is a great way to fulfill your weather TEKS.

The Particle Song- Helping Kids Remember Basic Particle Theory Principles
This is an extremely simple little song (with actions!) to help your students remember basic particle principles (ie. states of matter, expansion and contraction).
You will find simple lyrics- it is to the tune of Row Row Row your boat, as well as actions. There is no recording, or link to YouTube video, because I am definitely not putting myself out there like that!

Celebrate the birthday of a great American, Martin Luther King, Jr.. Students will learn facts about Dr. King and learn to compose new lyrics to a familiar tune. This cross curricular activity can be extended and expanded to include lessons on notation and harmony. Add instruments and a little choreography and you have a new favorite.

Music was an important part of the Civil RIghts Movement.Having students analyze song lyrics can increase interest and participation while connecting them to culture. The corresponding questions relate to course content like symbolism, theme, figurative language, direct text evidence, allusion, and the Civil Rights Movement.The formatting may look a little wonky on a Word Document.I recommend putting this on a GoogleDoc and setting it to "pageless."

Scientific Process Poem
Poetry improves fluency. Poems help students remember and gain a deeper understanding of subjects.
This "Scientific Process" poem can be used as a straight read, or it can be a call-and-echo cadence. (Think of the call-and-response of military running formations...)
