This Escape Room is an engaging escape room based on the travels of Josef in the novel, Refugee. The ending slide leads students to an Encyclopedia Brittanica entry on the Polish Death Camps (Concentration Camps) where Josef and his mother end their journey. It is a very bright idea a coworker shared with me about four years ago to start implementing STAAR simulations in the classroom. I modified it a bit and gave it a name as well designed the thinking tracks that go along with it. It is a extremely engaging way to apply all knowledge previously taught in the classroom.
