This lesson utilizes articles from the September 1, 2014 issue of TIME Magazine which covered the shooting and subsequent protests in Ferguson, MI. The lesson discusses systemic racism, police brutality, class warfare, mobilization, the War on Drugs, and more. *Note* it is intended for having printouts of articles to give to students which are not included in this lesson plan, as it is a sample (sorry!), but it can also simply be used as a lecture to spark discussion on these social issues.
