Reading Log - Middle School
The reading log includes topics related to the novel students are reading. The topics are general but intended to promote ideas and thoughts specific to the book they've chosen. I used this several years ago with my 8th grade students and recently found it again. I like that that it does not just make a note of the pages read and summary (although a summary question is included), but students get to choose a question that is related to what they've recently read.

I have recently used the Voxer app to extend a group of high level readers that I have. It is a book club format, where students answer questions about each chapter over the Voxer app (https://voxer.com/).
I have uploaded the student handout for Zlata's Diary, but this format would work wonderfully with any book.
