34 Slide Google Slide Unit. No Prep. In the past my AP Spanish Literature students have struggled to engage with La Segunda Carta de Relación because of the length, eloquent formal language and the fact that it was written 500 years ago. This year I challenged myself to create a Segunda Carta 1 week Unit of reading the text that simplifies and modernizes the language and storyline without sacrificing the critical mastery of AP literary terms, concepts and analysis. Study of Immigration Stories Spanish SLA Unit Reading Writing Personal Narrative

8 short stories/ personal essays about how teens and young adults experience immigration. Each is based on a true story and I can't wait to read texts with students that I think will help them understand themselves better! I plan to have my Heritage classes and Advanced Spanish classes read each of the 8 personal essays in small groups and rotate through the texts. I think they will relate to many of the ideas and that it will be refreshing for them to read stories that they can relate to.

Music of The Americas (North&South) Google Slidedeck with Images/Videos/Prompts

There are several formative tasks within, and a summative wrap-up assignment that could easily be optional. When taught in full (full videos, discussion, etc.), this unit
