Pallet Project Guidelines
This is the planning guide and rubric that I give students for our first woods project that the students get to choose. This has been very successful and students have enjoyed getting to make what they want. When they are planning I would highly suggest they do not make a huge project since it is pallet wood for this project! The rubric is very simple for the drawing for this one, but check out my "Joints Project Guidelines" for a more in-depth drawing rubric!This took them 3-4 days to plan/draw

Task: Write a Proportional Reasoning Poem
Now that your students understand proportional reasoning, have them illustrate their knowledge in a creative, fun way!This task includes two examples to inspire your students to write their own poem entitled, "One Inch Tall" or "One Hundred Feet Tall". They are required to include mathematically reasonable references. Rubric included.

Scale Classroom Project
Students design their dream classroom and practice scale drawings and proportional reasoning in this five-part project with a scoring rubric. Students answer a set of questions to imagine all aspects of their dream classroom, create a rough draft sketch, create a scale drawing blueprint on grid paper, measure and calculate lengths and widths using a self-determined scale, and then answer questions to reflect on their project.
