Kindergarten theme activity for unit on Presidents. I began by reading Martha Brenner's 'Abe Lincoln's Hat' and then asked the students what important things they would want to keep in a tall hat like Lincoln's. The students wrote a sentence about what they would keep and drew an illustration on the inside of the image of the hat.

I realized my students were having a difficult time doing the short-cut method (the old school way) of two digit by two digit multiplication so I created a practice sheet for them to work on. Included is 12 two digit by two digit multiplication problems with space for them to do their work.

Organize your entire year on one page! Each column is a new month, and each square in the column is a week. For mine, I put the theme, letter, number, color, and shape for the week in the box. This is an editable publisher file. I filled extra weeks with light gray and also christmas and spring breaks with light gray to show no school.
