TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am in my 7th year of teaching. The first 3 were spent teaching a writing workshop course along with honor's English. For the last three years, I have been teaching computer applications. This Apps course, as I call it, is primarily used to teach the Microsoft Office applications Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint and MovieMaker. Prior to teaching, I spent 6 years in the advertising industry both on the creative and account sides.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My philosophy is that if you make the work interesting, the students will want to do it. Therefore, I strive to make all my projects applicable to the students' lives and be based around subjects they might not normally get to study in school. Subjects like sports, pop culture, music and teen/tween life tend to get the best results.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was published in the Reading (PA) Eagle newspaper as an outstanding educator.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Undergraduate: Penn State University (advertising) Graduate: Eastern University (Multicultural Education) 45 additional masters level credits from Drake University, North Dakota St. and Fresno Pacific University.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Proud father of two. Dedicated coach of 7th-9th grade football.
