This awesome article from Genetic Literacy Project poses the idea of getting blood transfusions from apes or pigs. A great follow up activity after a mini unit on blood typing or ABO Blood Genetics/Punnett Squares. Also great for enrichment when entering the genetic/genetic engineering units. DNA PAPER MODEL to cut and assemble
This model of DNA is more detailed than most paper models designed for students. Here you can see every atom! Human Body Systems: 3D Life-Sized Models Project
Students will work in groups to create 3D life-size head-torso models, to include 5 body systems. The students will research the systems, organs and their functions.
I created this project for 7th grade GT students to expose them to biology. Students were genuinely engaged and the end product was more than I could have asked for! The project does take time, but was well worth it.
