What educators are saying

I used this with my homeschool book club students and they had fun. Once we made the hat and reviewed the parts I let them use their hat as a cheat sheet/helper during a brain parts trivia game.

Description

Nine major brain regions, one set of forceps: how long will it take your students to put their brain together and win?

Each student gets a blank brain map, but all of its parts are in a pool in the middle. Draw a card and answer the question correctly to win that brain part. What if you win two of the same lobes? Trade with other players to get a complete set as fast as you can! Watch out for the hazard cards, mixed into the pile, that force you to "-ectomy" a part and win it all over again.

Sample questions: "What stops most chemicals from entering the brain?" "This brain part wakes you up in the morning." "This lobe listens to music."

The download includes the blank brain map and a brain with 9 parts, to be colored and cut along the dark lines. There are 54 question/hazard cards to print and cut. For best results, print everything on card stock.
