Systems Unit Common Core Aligned
This 104 page document is used as "Guide Notes" to teach Linear Systems. They are aligned with the Common Core Standards. It teaches students how to tell how many solutions the linear system contains, how to solve a linear system graphically, algebraically using the substitution method and algebraically using the combination method. This follows the New VA SOL's. I have set some interactive questions as well as some multiple choice. The front cover I let them "dump their brain" about the topic.
Students need to find 2 partners that can help them work on the problem. After the time is up they switch to another group and work out the next problem.

Quadratic Trajectories-- Modeling Quadratic Equations
This activity includes 17 different scenarios (for 17 individuals, or 17 groups) where students are required to select a target point, use vertex form to find an equation for their projectile. They check for accuracy, by comparing their graph's x intercepts to their equation's solutions (via the quadratic formula). If their solutions don't match (within 2), they need to rework the equation. The finished product is displayed on a poster.
