Light Up the New Year: Lift-the-Flap Reflection Freebie featuring Light Energy
January marks the beginning of a new calendar year but is the mid point of the school year for my students and me. I only teach 5th grade Science, so I wanted to create a Science-y activity for students to complete the first day back from Winter Break.
I decided to combine concepts from the Light Energy Unit that we completed last quarter with reflection and goal-setting opportunities for the second half of the school year. So this "Light Up the New Year" lift-the-flap activity was born!
