I read this book in a small group, and after chapter 10 I give this assessment. It helps me to see how they are doing in terms of their deeper thinking and overall comprehension.

Book in a Bag Activity
I used this simple activity almost every week throughout my student teaching. We called this activity Book in a Bag because it was just that. We provided each student a book in a bag, and they had the entire weekend to read the book and complete the activity sheet.
