I was seeking a way for students practice their facts in a way that helped them understand the building blocks of multiplication. I wanted my students to internalize what multiplication meant long before they began to memorize the multiplication facts.
So I created this sheet to help them visualize that multiplication comes in many different forms.

Calendar Template Ten More, Ten Less, One More, One Less
This Template can be used to practice ten more, ten less, one more, and one less during calendar time by printing and laminating. You can display this template on your calendar bulletin board after laminating and use dry erase marker to write on/wipe off. You can also use this in math centers with students by printing several copies to laminate and use with dry erase markers.

Measurement Tools Picture Sort
This picture sort is a great activity when students are finished with their work early, to do on the board as a class, or copy and paste the pictures into a Smartboard activity. This is a great activity to go along with the 5 Frogs on a Log song! Students can take away a frog from the log throughout the song. The corresponding number line also is a good visual to help students with adding and subtracting frogs. Editable 4th Grade Model Write Equations Additive & Multiplicative Comparisons
