Washington, D.C. Trip Planning Budget Project
I use this project as part of the addition and subtraction unit in my 3rd grade classroom. It gives students a real world scenario in which they would use their knowledge of addition and subtraction to manage money. The kids love it because it offers a lot of choice and is very fun! Farming Simulation Math Project
I created this project to used with my 4th grade highly-gifted class. It incorporates multiplication, division, decimals, money management, and area into a complex and engaging simulation project. Students work with a group to purchase fields and seeds to plant each "year". They then roll the dice to determine what the weather will be like that year and how it will affect their crop growth.
