TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This school year marks my 13th year in teaching. I currently teach 6th Grade Math, Pre-AP Math, World History and Study Skills. I also spent one year teaching 5th grade Math and U.S. History. In addition to teaching, I'm the Testing Coordinator for my middle school campus and also help with training and professional development for the staff.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Because I am a visual learner, I love using pictures, drawings, graphic organizers and thinking maps to teach my students. I like finding new and creative ways to help make things "stick." I'm constantly trying out new methods of teaching concepts because every student is different and we all need a big bag of tricks to reach them all.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Although I don't have any official honors/awards, I do have a file full of "good notes" that students and parents have written that inspire me to continue doing what I love and share my passion for learning with my students.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

After H.S., I received a Bachelor's in Elementary Education (1-8) with a minor in Mathematics. Over the years, I've aqcuired teaching certifications in ELAR (4-8) and ESL (1-8).

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am married with two beautiful, if trying, children.
