5 Minutes Left and What Can I Do? : 100 Fun and Challenging Puzzles
Thank you for visiting this page! After 30+ years of teaching, these are my absolute favorite classroom-tested time fillers. Every teacher needs to have something ready when a planned lesson ends earlier than anticipated or the kids just need a break at the end of the period.
Some puzzles I have used over the years just do not work well; these all do. What they have in common is that they are challenging, engaging to all students, and effective problem-solving/critical thinking activities.

Effects of an Outlier on Mean, Median, Mode, and Range
This worksheet helps reinforce the effect of an outlier on the mean, median, mode, and range of a data set. Six data sets are provided. Students must calculate the mean, median, mode, and range of each data set with the outlier included, then with the outlier excluded. They must then determine what effect the outlier has on these statistics when included in the data set. A complete answer key is also provided.

Box and Whisker Plot - FREEBIE
This resource can be used for practice with creating and interpreting box and whisker plots. Students will use twenty mile times in order to calculate the five number summary. Space is provided for students to list the numbers in order from least to greatest. Students are directed to shade and label each quartile of the box and whisker plot. Murder Mystery Escape Room
This is one of my non-content escape rooms. Students will need to mainly use logical thinking to solve the puzzles. Students should be divided into teams of 3-4 to complete it in a group.
