Unit Circle Project (Rubric)

This is a great moment for all your creative minds to ger a chance to shine even if they might not be the strongest in a mathematics classroom. It is often so hard to get a chance to make opportunities for kids to be creative in upper level math that I love getting to offer this Unit Circle project as out unit assessment for trig.Included is the rubric and calculations sheet that I give to all students. They are given 2-3 weeks depending on the timeline to complete this project and turn it in wi

Trigonometry Project (Outside Activity) - Includes Rubric

This is a fun project where the students will create an inclinometer and use it to find the height of a tall structure outside, such as a tall tree, using trigonometry learned in the unit. This is a great hands-on activity for everyone in the class, especially if you have students who are struggling to understand trigonometry. This project is very engaging and I have always had positive feedback by students and parents. Data Collection Form, Peer/Self-Assessment and Rubric are included. I'm

Identifying Right Triangles Digital with bw Printable of Exercises

GCSE/IGCSE Identifying Right-angled triangles is fundamental to questions on applications of Pythagoras Theorem and trigonometry. This module reviews the practical skill of marking in the perpendicular heights of shapes via an online presentation. It is not a video; you are in control of the flow and can give your students(s) a printable copy of the exercises so they can work alongside if you think that helpful/necessary.Operate it as a lecture or alternatively as a tutorial that encourages stude

Origami Project

This project has students choose and fold a piece of origami. They will use the outline of the figure to create a polygon, triangulate the polygon, and use the Law of Sines and Cosines to find missing parts of triangles. Once triangles have been solved, students will find the area of each triangle (I teach Heron's area formula and Area=0.5(a)(b)sin(C) to streamline the process) to calculate the total area of their figure. Great for remote learning and asynchronous project assignment. Hyperli
