This is my second career. Originally an investigator, I became a teacher in 2008, when I was tutoring my coworkers children in upper mathematics courses. A friend suggested I become a math teacher to help more students understand mathematics. I have not looked back. I enjoy learning new ways to help students explore and understand mathematical concepts. I also enjoy sharing ideas and strategies with fellow teachers.
In the classroom I definitely keep a structured routine. However the things we do each day within that structure is not routine. Using technology, hands on manipulative, exploration, and up and out of your seat team work. This is how I keep my students engaged and learning new material.
