Geometry Project - Geometry Town
Students will create a town map made of different geometric figures. They will demonstrate their knowledge of parallel and perpendicular lines, acute and obtuse angles, geometric shapes as well as many other geometric concepts through this creative and fun project.
This project can be adapted to higher level geometry courses and high school classes. You can add parameters to the geometric shaped buildings (ex. must label the dimensions of the building given a certain area or perimeter).

360 Degree Angles
To assist my students in familiarizing themselves with the concept of angles, I created these angle markers and am going to be posting them (in a number line style) around classroom. I hand colored every 30 degrees (30, 60, 90...) to mark the right angles, complementary, supplementary, bisectors, etc. Designed for standard business card size laminate pouches.

Pythagorean Theorem Poster
This poster visually shows how to label the sides of a right triangle (legs, hypotenuse) and proves the PYTHAGOREAN THEOREM. The question at the bottom, "What's the final step?" is a reminder for students to find the SQUARE ROOT after using the equation. I have this printed out in large poster size in color and laminated in my classroom. Students refer to it often as they are solving problems involving missing side lengths of right triangles.

Similar figures have the same shape, but are not typically the same size. Students will use photographs and indirect measurement to determine how tall objects are around their school, home, or town.
Students will need (or be introduced to) knowledge of ratios, proportions, similar figures, and indirect measurement.
This is a good project as a chapter wrap up or even as an introductory/discovery project into a new chapter.
