Academic Vocabulary Sentence Frames
This document is full of 40+ Academic Words used commonly across 6th, 7th and 8th grade in Middle School. Each landscape reference has two words. Each word is written at the top with alternate word forms below it. Below that is a simple definition and then. synonyms are listed. In the bottom half of the reference sentence frames using each form of the word are given. These sentence frames can be used to help students speak academically or write academically.

Keeping up with Common Core can be difficult. Arguably one of the most difficult adjustments will be preparing students to respond to the Text Dependent Analysis writing prompts. This poster I've created has student friendly wording and includes a key phrase that students should keep in mind when crafting their response: "The evidence is in the text, the answer is not."
