Diversity Bulletin Board - We are all unique

"The beauty of the world lies in the diversity of its people." I made this board based on the book "The Crayon Box That Talked" by Shane DeRolf. It's easy to replicate! We are a box of crayons, each one of us unique. But when we get together, the picture is complete! —Shane DeRolf from The Crayon Box That Talked

This is a great group activity or independent for Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday. It focuses on the positive and has students demonstrate critical thinking skills about the traits that MLK showed us. It makes a super 3-D bulletin board. I have included the written lesson plan, template picture of project paper, and photos of the completed activity on display. Enjoy!

For MLK Day this year, I created a poster paper for students to write their dreams. I included a thought bubble and then I uploaded their school picture into the word document to make it look they were telling their dreams. I then posted them on our "I Have a Dream Wall" in our gymnasium. It's a great way to get everyone in your school involved in MLK Day.
