There really isn't a lot of resources for teaching Guitar to groups. This SMART lesson goes over the basics of reading guitar chord diagrams, understanding finger numbers on the guitar, and gives an assessment with answer key.
There are 3D representative visuals of how the hand should look when playing specific chord shapes and are moveable.
There are even some clear and easy interdisciplinary relationships with Math. Principals and Administrators should love that.

Note Values and Rhythm Composition Basics
This SMART Notebook file is an excellent way engage students in learning note values and composing basic rhythm compositions. The color-coded boxes support student understanding and have notes and rests that equal the same amount of beats. The material presented on page 2 is intended for direct instruction on note values. This book is a classic called, "Goodnight Moon." It is by Margaret Wise Brown and pictures by Clement Hurd. It has been adapted with Mayor Johnson subtitles to go along with the book. It also has intriguing music incorporporated throughout the pages. It is at the same time an interactive book and it reads each page as you click on it. I hope you enjoy this oldie but goodie one!
