This SMART Notebook file is an excellent way engage students in learning note values and composing basic rhythm compositions. The color-coded boxes support student understanding and have notes and rests that equal the same amount of beats. The material presented on page 2 is intended for direct instruction on note values. Treble Clef Lesson and Flash Cards for Smart Board
This is a lesson that introduces notes on the treble staff, as well as D below the staff and middle C. After an introduction to the staff, a 30-card quiz is used to reinforce the note names. Students identify the note shown by writing the answer on a line, then remove the screen shade to reveal the correct answer. This is great for both individual and group work, and can be made into a competitive or non-competitive game as needed.
