I have always struggled teaching this topic, and another teacher shared this song and it worked wonders on my students. I made this graphic organizer to tie everything together for them and it worked great.
The first page is what is given to the students and the 2nd page is your reference for what the song is saying. I usually have the students make a beat on the desk and they will remember the song, which will let them factor cubes!

Graphing Quadratics Song Chain
This is a cut and tape colored musical "chain" activity used to practice graphing quadratic equations. The teacher should print the activity on three different colored pieces of paper for each student. The Seven Step Strategy for Solving Word Problems
I created this strategy for my third grade students when I noticed that they continued to experience difficulties solving word problems, even after strategies from the math program had been taught and practiced. The Seven Step Strategy includes a song to help students remember the strategy AND can be used on pretty much every word problem! My students experienced much more success in understanding and solving word problems after I presented the Seven Step Strategy.
