This is a great engaging activity for students to learn about making a data table and a graph. They will choose 30 seconds of a song to be played for the class, everyone else will rate it on a scale of 1-5, then they will make a data table with their results and graph them.I have paper rating cards included in this document, but I have also used a google form! No vocals at this time. I use smilies whenever possible because all my students identify with them as they have no characteristics that denote race.

"Shade It" lyrics (Math Graphing Song)
I rewrote the lyrics to the popular song "Shake It" by Metro Station for my Algebra I students. The new words describe the process of graphing lines and linear inequalities. My singing voice leaves a lot to be desired, but the math content is solid and the kids thought it was hilarious!
