Galileo Readers' Theater

This readers' theater script was created to practice fluency, speaking, listening and to enhance comprehension of our study on Galileo. This pairs well with the Grade 3 Wit and Wisdom Outer Space Unit but can be utilized with any study of Galileo/outer space. A modern twist has been added to Galileo's part to spark more interest and connection amongst students. My class turned this into a production where they memorized lines, added props and costumes and performed it in front of the entire scho

This interactive solar system theater was developed by me to teach children facts about the solar system in a fun way.It works very simply: first print and cut out the planets, glue them onto paper plates and put a stick behind. I wrote a little play in which every child is one planet. You can also print out the sheets in black and white, it still works fine. As a little bonus I've put in planets without the description as well so kids can guess which planet it is.This material is designed for f

Kinesthetic Lesson for Solar System, Grades 2-8

This short quirky play leads to a thoughtful application of the movements of the Solar System's celestial bodies set to Strauss's famous overture "Also Sprach Zarathustra, Op. 30." Students become the planets, etc., determining their orbits, rotation directions/speed, and use other clues to work through how the planets formed. Halley's Comet and the Kuiper Belt also play a role! Ideal for either a classroom lesson or a parent-night presentation!
