Fraction Recipe Book Project
This is an activity I used to reinforce fraction operations in my 6th grade math class. The students created a class recipe book by each bringing in three of their favorite recipes. They had to include a list of ingredients, as well as instructions for doubling, tripling, or halving the recipe. They had a lot of fun designing their book covers and pages, adding in cooking tips and kitchen advice, and assembling the class book. They each received a copy to take home- and many of them brought

100th Day Fruit Loop Necklace Sorting and Counting Mats
These mats were created especially for a 100th Day celebration! Students sort fruit loop cereal by color on the first mat. Students then transfer the fruit loops onto the second mat*, counting to 100, but in color-coded groups of 10. The fruit loops can then be strung onto a necklace** to wear and display their knowledge of 100 and counting by tens! Print the mats on cardstock and laminate to ensure durability. (Mine have lasted for years!)

100th Day Mystery Bag
This is an at home project that I send home with my students to celebrate the 100th day of school. I attach the sheet to a paper bag and students bring them back taped or stapled shut with their items inside. Their clues are written on the sheet on the outside of the bag. Pumpkin Names
The perfect activity to pair with the "Five Little Pumpkins Sitting on a Gate" song. I gave my Pre-K kids their name cards so they could count up the letters in their names. Then they had t take out that many pumpkins from the bowl. For example: Ethan has 5 letters, so he took 5 pumpkins. Multiplication & Division Meanings Choice Board - CCSS Compliant
Choice Board's are wonderful ways for students to show what they know and have a say in how they do it. They are a highly recommended IDE learning strategy.
The format is a restaurant menu. Each course allows the student to show what they know about the meanings for multiplication and division such as related vocabulary and repeated addition or subtraction. Choice Boards are already differentiated and students love them. They give students a real sense of having choice in their education.
