Direct vs. Indirect Characterization Card Sort
I did not include a key for either of these card sorts. In many cases, it depends on the level of the anlaysis the students are thinking at. I am more interested in the text evidence and explanation they give for their sorting.This card sort includes 2 levels of determining direct versus indirect characterization. Reading Record Form
This is a great tool for keeping track of the books students read. Each student has their own form, and all forms are kept in a "reading record" binder. The students fill out the form each time they finish a book. They love to receive this form at the end of the year to show-off how much they read. It's also a great reference for you.
