This multiple-meaning word worksheet is modified from the middle school reading curriculum and is based on Amelia Earhart.
It aligns with the Maryland Alternate State Curriculum Objective:
3.A.7.b Given a modified grade-level literary text or a portion of that text, student will identify the meaning of a multiple meaning word in context.

Differentiated Close Reading Worksheet; Special Ed; Directly Stated in Text
This worksheet is modified from the middle school reading and science curriculum. It has a short informational passage about Earth.
There are two worksheets that look the same to students. This is an easy way to differentiate because students will not realize that their paper is different from that of their peers. One worksheet requires students to write in the answers, where the other has two answer choices for students to circle.

This product is a handout which can be used with ANY non-fiction reading (article, passage, book, chapter). It includes a graphic organizer for students to find the main idea of a paragraph, or chapter and then find supporting details to defend that idea. Book Tasting Menu
Book tastings are a fun and engaging way to get kids to try new books! I used this as an after-school activity but it could easily be used in a reading class or any class where a book is being picked.
We dressed up as waitresses and gave students this menu. We had the books preselected on a cart. Students can circle what books they want and then put their order in.
This product is a tasting menu that you can edit to use for your program.

Reading record template self-differentiated
This is a reading record template that allows pupils to read for enjoyment and complete a reflective question of their choice from the back of the booklet. It can be differentiated according to each child, how many questions they answer, how long their answers are and they also have the option of drawing a picture instead or as well as writing.

Independent Reading for Groups - Run by students
Here is a simple yet effective resource which I have created for my intermediate aged students. The idea is that they learn comprehension strategies through having 'Jobs'. The children love it. A fun innovative way to teach reading. And what I love the most is that I can observe each student every single day!
