Calculus - Limits Card Sort Activity
A pairs / small group activity for students to practice what they know about limits.
Each group gets a formula for a piecewise-defined function and 18 cards. They must determine which six cards are true for their function. As an extension, groups who finish can be assigned a set of six of the remaining cards and create a function that has those properties.

Polynomial Function Project - Roller Coaster
In this project, students learn how to use polynomial function to model roller coaster rides. In this first part, they are given some polynomial functions to find the relative maximum/minimum, increasing/decreasing intervals, x- and y-intercepts, etc. They will explore the average rate of change. This item is a functions review activity to be used at the end of a functions unit in Algebra 2. Students look at graphs and try to match the different characteristics to each graph.
