Review Reference Materials with this SmartBoard Activity. First, have a discussion and fill in a chart on why you would use resource materials. Next, choose the best reference material for given scenarios. Then, students will complete their own sort to practice. To close the lesson, students will answer practice standardized test questions. There is also a quiz to give to check for understanding.

Easter Story Elements
This Easter activity helps teacher instruct students about the different story elements: characters, plot, and setting. The beginning part of the lesson includes definitions of each element. Then, the students are able to select a picture from the board of eggs, chicks, and bunnies and answer a question about a provided story. Each question relates to either character, plot, or setting and has an accompanying story to go with it.
