TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have 20 years teaching grades 9-12 social studies in schools throughout the world. I was one of the first teachers in the world to teach IB Global Politics. I started and run a human rights photojournalism and oral history program for high school and university students. I'm skilled in adapting work for students of various learning abilities.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I create and deliver lessons that are engaging, concept and inquiry-based and that focus on building writing, research, presentation and critical thinking skills. My Global Politics and social studies lessons revolve around authentic texts and engaging tasks such as investigations, discussions, mock trials, and role plays, which allow students to explore current global events from various perspectives and through the lenses of relevant concepts.
