Creative Creature Project
I use this activity for students to make up their own creature after we have learned about ecosystems, adaptations, and structures and functions. Students will use what they have learned to create a make-believe animal. Students will make up a name, habitat, diet, and 2 adaptations their creature has that helps them to survive in their environment. There is also room for them to draw a picture. My students love making up their own animal and enjoy sharing with the class!

The first outline is intended for a learner needing a bit of scaffolding as it includes the definitions and an example of each resource. The second outline is for a more advanced learner, providing necessary focus but no examples and a more critical question for a wrap up.

Human Impacts on Nature Observation
Students will love to observe the natural environment around their school, home, or community while looking for evidence of human impact on their environment. Students will record their observations with words and drawings and also write what they think caused this impact in the environment (cars, pollution, littering etc) Students will then come up with an action that will prevent this impact from happening.
