Common Core Close Reading (The High School Annotation Survival Guide)
Close reading a text is an essential skill to teach, especially in a high school English class following a Common Core aligned curriculum. My annotation strategy teaches students to record the gist of each paragraph or chunk of text on the right and talk back to the text using symbols on the left. Elementary School Weekly Reading Log (Editable)
I created this Reading Log for my First Grade students. It can be used for any K-5 teacher. This log is an editable word document. There are three versions. This reading log was placed inside a gallon sized Ziploc bag. I used Avery Labels for these Ziploc bags. Inside the bag were 4 books (1 book for each night).
